Version 2.7 "Oceanbound" (also branded Fashionwave: Call of Whales) is Heartopia's half-anniversary update — six months after the global launch on January 7, 2026. It's the biggest content drop since launch.
Rollout timeline
- July 4, 2026 — preparation phase begins.
- July 9, 2026 — quality-of-life pass: quest list revamp with auto-tracking, faster category filtering in Dorothee's Salon, a Fashion Wave Memory Journal (image zoom, event stickers), and an Outfit Poster creation/sharing tool.
- July 9 – August 3, 2026 — Team Gathering Rewards: create or join a team via the official event page for milestone-based rewards.
- July 11 – August 22, 2026 — main "Call of Whales" content release.
What's new in the main content release
- New map Whale Canyon — Heartopia's first free-swimming, omnidirectional underwater map, with underwater sprint, coral formations, and whale-skeleton structures.
- New character Rory — Annie's older sister and a marine-archaeology team advisor.
- New permanent hobby: Ocean Cleanup — use an underwater debris cleaner tool to remove pollution and earn seashells/collectibles.
- New housing type: Seamount — a customizable underwater home, reached via the management console.
- New ingredients: Glass Wart and Sea Grapes (featured recipe: Glass Wart Shrimp Fried Rice).
- New outfits: Sea Star/Sea Flower Bud Dress, Sailor Swimsuits, Snorkeling Jumpsuit, plus matching pet gear.
- New furniture: ocean bay windows, tie-knotted hammock.
- Limited-time Ocean Concert Stage with live performances and fireworks.
Ocean Cleanup also ties into a real-world charity/awareness angle: leveling the hobby entered players into a draw for a limited "Voice of the Deep" gift box tied to Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin conservation awareness.
If you only have time for one thing this update, prioritize unlocking Seamount housing and the Ocean Cleanup hobby early — both gate other underwater content.
